Counselor’s Corner
In our counseling classes we are doing units on personal
safety.
Some safety rules to teach children are as follows:
Know your full name, address and phone number, and know how to dial
911 in an emergency
Always wear the right safety gear for sports.
Obey all traffic signs and be aware of traffic when walking or
biking.
Wear a seat belt when riding in a vehicle.
NEVER go anywhere with or accept anything from a stranger.
Run away from anyone who does something to make you feel
uncomfortable. Then tell a
trusted adult.
Make sure your parents or guardians always know where you are, whom
you are with and
when you’ll be home.
Go swimming only when an adult is watching.
Don’t taste anything unless it’s food, drink or medicine that a
trusted adult gives you.Stay away
from things that can burn you, including matches and
lighters. If your clothes catch fire
remember to STOP, DROP and ROLL.
StudyIsland
Study
Island is a new web-based program that our
3rd and 4th grade students will be
using. Study Island is web-based so families can access the
program from home. Your 3rd and 4th grade
children will be bringing home a parent letter with more
information.
