About Ms. Railsback

Hello! As a first year teacher, I wanted to give everyone a little bit background on me. I am a native of Miller, Kansas; I grew up on a small livestock operation where we raised a variety of species of livestock including show pigs, sheep, dairy goats, and beef cattle - the foundation of my 4-H projects in Osage County. I was also involved in the growing and selling of sweet corn with my brother. In 2013, I moved to Mankato, Kansas, where I eventually graduated from Rock Hills High School. During this time, I was active in FFA, FBLA, and FCCLA; I served two terms as a Kansas FBLA state officer and competed at least once at a national contest for each of those organizations. In FFA, I earned my State and American Degrees, the highest honors bestowed upon its members.

After high school, I attended Fort Hays State University (Roll Tiges!) originally as an agribusiness major before ultimately changing my major to agriculture education as a sophomore. At  FHSU, I was involved in Sigma Alpha, a professional agricultural sorority; Collegiate Farm Bureau; Block & Bridle; and Phi Beta Lambda, collegiate level of FBLA. I student taught at Washington County Jr/Sr High School in the spring of my senior year at FHSU. I loved my time in the classroom and I am so excited to be here in Scott County!
